Timely Best Buy Award for BiOFAIR helps Windmill Organics celebrate Fair Trade Fortnight
Ethical Consumer magazine, in the March/April issue, has rated BiOFAIR Organic Fair Trade Raw Cane sugar as a “Best Buy”, scoring a very high 15 out of 20.The magazine takes into account factors such as of Environment, Animal Welfare, People (including supply chain and employee welfare), Politics and Company Ethics. Of the later, the magazine states “Windmill Organics gains a positive mark for only selling organic products”.
BiOFAIR Organic Fair Trade Raw Cane Sugar is sold in packs of 500g and is available through your local health food shop, and from leading UK wholesalers.
Our aim with BiOFAIR, is to help third world communities develop economically sound trading relationships, whilst at the same time protecting the health of farmers and the integrity of the local environment. The BiOFAIR work also includes helping the communities that provide the ingredients for our products. The Raw Cane Sugar comes from a Fair Trade project in Paraguay. Since 2005, the Fair Trade premium has bought school material for over 5000 children and a tractor to help with production and efficiency. Future plans include free health checks for villages, as there is no national health system.
